As anticipated, this year has been full of change for WCPA. A new board structure, moving the date of PDI to the summer, and lots of conversations on how to be a stronger, better, more relevant organization for the state.
In the coming weeks, you will recieve a survey from the board asking you what you think about the organization, what you want to see from it, and you’ll have the opportunity to provide input of your own.
Our PDI this year was focused on serving the needs of indigenous students in the state of Wisconsin. We felt this was an important topic to cover for our state, since Wisconsin is home to 11 tribal nations and their students are attending our institutions. The event was wonderfully attended and we cannot thank our hosts, the Ho-Chunk Nation, enough for the opportunity to partner to provide this learning opportunity.
One of the strategic initiatives that rose out of the disaffiliation conversations last year was the need to create and strengthen partnerships around the state and across state lines. We believe that this will continue to provide strength to the organization and allow us the opportunity to continue to provide unique, relevant professional development opportunities.
